Ben Affleck teamed up with his little brother Casey to direct “Gone Baby Gone”, their new movie. “Gone Baby Gone” is a crime drama about a detective trying to find a missing child, presumably kidnapped, and the drug and child abuse ties to the disappearance.

On E! News, Casey reports that it really hit home for him because he and his wife (Summer Phoenix) are expecting their second child. Likewise, the novel the movie is based on interested Ben right off the bat, and the interest only intensified after the birth of his and (wife) Jennifer Garner’s daughter, Violet.

Director Ben reports that the filming went very smoothly. Though others may have looked down on choosing his brother to play the lead, Ben says that’s part of what made the filming go so smoothly: the unspoken understanding of how things should be. Casey added that when they had a problem, they talked about it. Ben added he wasn’t sure if the smoothness was entirely due to the sibling tie or because he already knew what he was getting in his brother: a hard worker and a good actor.

“Gone Baby Gone” will be in theaters Friday, October 19, 2007.
