Britney Spears makes the headlines again today with her bold attempt at getting custody of her sons. She’s been following all the court instructions, and she’s been working to prove she’s a competent mother.

Although Britney was the person to initiate the emergency meeting, once everyone was there, her lawyer said she wouldn’t make it because of the “media frenzy.” However, she did show up - as did the paparazzi in helicopters and a police barrier.

The judge, however, doesn’t seem to think showing up is enough. That’s understandable as he awarded (ex-husband) Kevin Federline custody only one week ago. Britney should probably have waited until their next scheduled court date, which is October 25. Though there’s a possibility that Britney and Kevin could be awarded joint custody, it’s more likely that, for a time at least, Kevin will maintain custody.
