Britney Spears, who was hospitalized on Thursday for a 72-hour evaluation, will remain in-hospital another 14 days. That means that her psychiatrist is involved, because she’s the only one who can demand a longer stay.

The Stewart & Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA utilizes student staffers to help doctors check on their patients at least once an hour. Britney was able to keep her clothing and her other personal possessions, like toiletries, but not her cell phone. She is allowed to make phone calls, but she has to use the pay phones.

Meanwhile, Britney’s family is worried about her. She’s in a padded room, but it could be a lot worse. I think we need to keep in mind that this will hopefully be for Britney’s own good - and hope she’ll snap back to her old self after this. Keep in mind that this is Britney’s second hospital stay - for psychiatric reasons - this year.
