Firefighters from other parts of the U.S. will be travelling close to 1000 miles to help out in California. The fires are raging all along the coast, north and south, and have destroyed countless homes, including that of some celebrities. Winds generated by the fires have also caused problems with sets for the TV drama Cold Case, forcing a change of location. One TV reporter was filmed covering his own house burning, barely choking back tears.

Fires have been burning in California for several months now.
