The truth of the matter is Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were never legally married. They were married in Bora Bora, yes, but the union is not legally binding once you return to the United State. Instead, it was supposed to be a “spiritual ceremony.”
Unfortunate, the couple even left Bora Bora separately - their marriage was over before it began. I guess it’s a good thing they didn’t go through with the ceremony. Less than 4 days… craziness. Even Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon lasted longer - and that’s pretty pathetic.
Here’s what they had to say for themselves:
“After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”
