According to police, Heath Ledger’s death was not a suicide (you have no idea how relieved I am to hear that). There were no illegal drugs found in his apartment, and although there was a rolled up $20 bill, it had no traces of drugs on it.
Evidently, just after noon on Tuesday, Heath’s housekeeper went into his apartment, and he was face down on his bed, naked but with the sheet pulled up to his shoulders, and snoring loudly. Heath’s masseuse, Diana Wolozin, went to the apartment just before 3, and when he did not come out of his bedroom, tried to reach him via his cell phone. After she went in, she tried to wake him, but then called Mary-Kate Olsen, saying he was unconscious. Mary-Kate agreed to call some private security guards she knew, which arrived at the same time the police that Diana called later.
There were two prescription drugs - sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication - were in the apartment. It’s not known if they played a role in Heath’s death.
