Clifford Harris aka Rapper “T.I.” was booked this weekend for weapons-related charges. T.I convinced his bodyguard to purchase an assortment of weapons for him. He had the misfortune to buy them from an undercover cop. The bodyguard was arrested Wednesday, and then Saturday, with the help of his former bodyguard, T.I. was picked up trying to make the same purchase.
As this is not the rapper’s first charge, prosecutors have requested that he stay behind bars throughout the duration of the case. T.I. was busted on drug-related charges in 1998, and then later for gun-related charges. U.S. Attorney, David Nahmias said, “The last place machine guns should be is in the hands of a convicted felon, who cannot legally possess any kind of firearm.”
The weapons purchased include 3 machine guns, 2 silencers, and a pistol. That sounds pretty serious to me, and it seems like the court agrees. Prosecutors say that T.I. is facing “serious federal charges and a potentially long prison sentence.”
The girls may be going to jail, and the party-boys are going, to, but it sure seems like T.I.’s got ‘em all topped.
