The rumor about Angelina Joli’s daughter, Zahara, having been illegally adopted because her birth mother is still alive and, as a result, headed home, is just that: a rumor.

When Angelina adopted Zahara, the child’s grandmother sent a letter to the adoption agency confirming that the child’s mother was dead. The grandmother also brought three witnesses to court to testify to the same thing, and they also confirmed that the father is unknown.

Dr. Tsegaye Berhe of the adoption agency, “Wide Horizons for Children” said the rumor was just “media hype by unethical journalists.” In addition, the adoption is completely “legal and irrevocable.”
